Majma' Bahrain Institute is an educational research and Islamic studies institution where a team of educational researchers, academic linguists, and pedagogical specialists are united by a single conviction: the barriers that keep learners from Arabic fluency and Qur'anic comprehension are not inevitable. They are the product of misaligned curricula and unsuitable pedagogies.

We are not merely a recitation school, nor a conventional language programme. We are an institution built on the belief that every learner — regardless of background, age, or starting point — deserves access to the Arabic of the Qur'an in its full depth, and the intellectual tools to engage with it independently, confidently, and intelligently. Beyond teaching, we also offer professional Arabic translation services — extending our linguistic expertise beyond the classroom to serve individuals, organisations, and institutions that require precision and scholarly depth.

We believe that access to the Arabic of the Qur'an is not a privilege reserved for scholars, native speakers, or those fortunate enough to live near a traditional Arabic institution. It is a right that belongs to every Muslim who seeks it, and an intellectual gateway available to every non-Muslim who approaches it with genuine curiosity.

Our broader vision is one of civilisational bridge-building: equipping Arabic learners in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and across the globe with the linguistic intelligence to engage meaningfully with the Arab world, its intellectual heritage, and its living culture — removing barriers not only between people and their scripture, but between communities, disciplines, and civilisations.

Our mission is to make genuine Qur'anic Arabic comprehension accessible to every willing learner on earth — through a structured, research-driven programme that combines depth with accessibility. We are committed to excellence in scholarship, integrity in pedagogy, and sincerity in purpose. Every lesson we deliver is measured against one question: does this bring the learner closer to an authentic, independent understanding of the Arabic of the Qur'an?

Our Methodology

Our integrated programme is built on a proprietary pedagogical framework adapted from the internationally recognised Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) principles, developed through years of academic research and practical classroom experience. This allows us to combine three essential skills within a single, coherent Arabic language programme.

It is structured across six progressive levels — from absolute beginners with no prior exposure to Arabic or the Qur'an, to advanced learners capable of interpreting Qur'anic text in Arabic, extracting jurisprudential rulings, and engaging with the classical Islamic scholarly tradition at its source.

Three disciplines are woven into every level: Qur'anic-specific Arabic — the distinct linguistic and semantic system of the revealed text; modern Arabic communication — the fluency to speak, read, and engage with contemporary Arabic discourse; and academic Arabic — the precision required to access classical scholarship, hadith literature, and Islamic intellectual heritage in the original language.

Separate tracks are available for adults and children, ensuring that every family member can begin their journey at the right level, at the right pace, and through the right approach.

Our Base

Majma' Bahrain Institute operates from London — a city that sits at the intersection of the Muslim world and the Western world, and one of the most linguistically diverse cities on earth. From this base, we serve learners across Europe, North America, Australia, Southeast Asia, and beyond, delivering all instruction fully online with class schedules designed for both Western and Eastern time zones.

London is not incidental to our mission. It places us at the heart of Muslim diaspora communities whose need for authentic, academically rigorous Arabic education is among the most acute in the world — communities whose children grow up reciting words whose meaning they have never been taught to own.
